All 29 ground-level rooms are non-smoking and include amenities like in-room refrigerators, HBO, and free local calls. Choose from kings, queens, doubles, connecting rooms, or in-room Jacuzzis. Enjoy our indoor pool, whirlpools, play area, and picnic spaces—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring.
Located off I-75 (Exit 338) with free ferry shuttle service, Rainbow Motel is your cozy and convenient getaway in northern Michigan.
My mom, three daughters and I stayed here for three nights. Everything was so clean. The pool and hot tubs were wonderful and parking was perfect. The owners and staff were so nice and very knowledgeable of the area. We will definitely be staying here again!!

In 1984, Nancy and Henry Hinsman purchased the Rainbow Motel, for 20 plus years they were your hosts at the motel. Since then, Todd and Laura Janecek have been the heart behind Rainbow Motel. As hands-on owners living right on the property, they’ve spent decades greeting guests with genuine hospitality and making sure every stay feels like a visit with old friends.
Over the years, they've built more than just a business—they’ve built relationships. Lifelong friendships have been formed across check-in counters and courtyard conversations, the reason that our guests often return year after year to be part of the story. Their passion for creating a clean, quiet, and welcoming atmosphere is reflected in every room and every corner of the property.

The Rainbow is an adorable retro motel! The rooms are clean & comfortable, the grounds are beautiful & well maintained & the owners are lovely people! It's situated within easy walking distance of restaurants, shopping, fun activities & the Mackinac Bridge. I would definitely stay here again!
